4 Tips on How to Get the Most Out of Small Business Saturday

In the midst of all the pumpkin spice lattes being sipped and honey baked hams being purchased, Small Business Saturday is quickly approaching on November 24th, snuggled right in between major shopping holidays Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

As a quick refresher from when you heard about it last year,Small Business Saturday?is a time for customers to come out and support the small businesses in the community by shopping locally. As an owner of a small business myself, here are four tips to follow to make sure your business gets the most out of Small Business Saturday:

Go social.

Talk up your small business on any and all of your social outlets. We all know the ?avoid sounding like spam rule? so don?t just go ahead and bombard your followers and friends with constant reminders of SBS every hour on the hour. Sending out a newsletter reminder in the days leading up to November 24th?is prime advertising time in terms of reaching the widest possible audience that will open and read your newsletter. Keep your normal content flowing, but be sure to sprinkle in some nice reminders to support Small Business Saturday along with whatever it is your business will be offering.

Do something special for your customers.

Offer a Small Business Saturday tailored promotion to help community raise awareness to come shop that day at your business. Once you?ve thought of an eye-catching promotion, don?t forget to advertise the deal on all your social media outlets, as I mentioned above. The company that I own, MyCorporation, will be providing one of our products the?MyCorpVault?document storage system for free (normally priced at $50) with every purchase of a corporation, LLC, DBA or trademark which will be available all day November 24th?at?our website. Get creative and see what you can pull out to offer!

Pay attention to atmosphere.

If you?re keeping your storefront open, make sure that when people walk in the door there are complimentary snacks, door giveaways, and other fun items waiting to greet them. Decorations, snacks, and the potential for any additional discounts or free sample products are a great way to get people in the door and feeling festive and ready to celebrate the day. It?s also nice to make sure every person that walks in doesn?t leave without something in hand, even if it?s just the occasional free cookie.

Treat your employees.

On such an important day in the small business calendar, you want to make sure your employees are on the top of their game. A little treat like some donuts in the morning or an office Starbucks run can do a lot to keep enthusiasm and overall employee positivity flowing from start to finish on Small Business Saturday!
